The invention of the first gramophone dates back to 1877. The history of the gramophone begins with the phonograph sound recorder invented by Thomas Edison. A diaphragm and needle are used with this instrument. It is made of tin leaf that the needle can travel with. It also had two separate systems for listening and recording. The first records that Berliner used in this field were zinc plates on which wax material was applied. The gramophone, named after Graham Bell's last graffiti, was changed to its current name by Berliner and patented under this name. What is a gramophone?
The name gramophone, also known as phonograph, is derived from the ancient Greek words fone, sound and grammein for writing or making a phonograph. It is a device that can be used to record sounds by engraving on a rotating cylinder or disk and then reproduce them with the help of a needle. The sound tracks on the record turn into sound with the vibration of the needle and then its friction with the circular sound tracks on the rotating disc. It is a very old mechanical musical instrument. The gramophone works with a round thin stone record, the phonograph with a cylinder. The plaque is known as a tool fixed on it and used to repeat the principles. The gramophone consists of two different parts: the record and the machine.
